“We went for breakfast this morning and had great service.  So polite and nothing was too much trouble, she was a breath of fresh air.  Safe working systems were in place and for once we relaxed and momentarily forgot about COVID.  Well done, friendly, clean environment and will be returning far more regularly”.

“10/10, lovely service from the friendly and helpful staff – nothing is too much for them, willing to help in anyway they can.  They followed all COVID procedures and I felt safe at all times throughout my visit.  The food was amazing and came out within good time and of a high level.  We sat in the bar area which was cosy with the fire lit, there was a good atmosphere and I know the restaurant area is just as lovely.  I would highly recommend to anyone”😊

“We came for a Sunday Roast, all had the beef and all left with empty plates.  Lovely, friendly staff, we sat outside so every time got a different face – which was fine, they were all chatty & friendly”.

‘We enjoyed a good lunch AND dinner at the Dartmoor Halfway! Full covid precautions in place and tables spaced out.  The ploughman’s was really good with a good slab of cheddar and thick sliced ham plus some delicious cabbage slaw, chutney and crusty bread.  The Croque Monsieur was the best I’ve had (even in France!).  Thick sliced bread with thick cut ham and lashings of melted cheddar.  Super substantial! Perfect, friendly service from Sasha.  For dinner we opted for curry and fish and chips. The seafood curry was mild to moderate and very pleasant with meaty monkfish and king prawns, rice and two poppadoms.  Lovely.  The fish and chips were great and the fish was cooked perfectly with crisp thin batter.  All very enjoyable and washed down with a pint of Jail.  Top notch service from Sam who was constantly on the move ensuring that everything in the pub was running smoothly.  The campsite was very good with nice, hedged pitches and clean facilities.  Could possibly do with a larger sanitary block for 25 pitches but I guess many campers were using their own facilities.  So, Dartmoor Halfway – highly recommended!!”

“We were driving around for a while trying to find somewhere to have breakfast and arrived here at about 2 minutes past 11 (they stop serving breakfast at 11) and the lady asked the chef if they wouldn’t mind doing breakfast even though we were late.  Breakfast was lovely and customer service was outstanding.  Would highly recommend!”

“Just spent two nights here.  The customer service was excellent.  Two staff members in particular made it what it was… John and Samantha.  John couldn’t help enough.  He gave us a hand putting up our awning as we were new to using it with our camper.  Samantha even brought a splitter so we were able to have power as Pitch Up booked us in even though they were booked for power pitches.  This meant we were still able to go.  The food at the pub was amazing.  We will definitely be returning.  The kids loved the play area too.  All round, a pleasant experience with great views to take in too”.

“Stop here with family after every visit before they head back up country.  Consistently tasty food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere.  Love a fish finger sandwich!”

“Spent 2 nights here in my camper-van.  Unfortunately, due to the 2nd lockdown, I couldn’t spend longer!! Fantastic place, private pitches with EHU.  ALL the amenities you could need.  Toilet/shower block, waste and grey removal.  Washing machine/dryer and a pots washing area.  Staff are SUPER friendly.  Beer is wonderful with plenty of choice and the food was delicious.  By far and away, the best ‘pub’ stopover I’ve been too.  As Arnie would say:- I’ll be back!!!!!!”

“Stayed for two nights in this little gem!! The rooms are tastefully decorated with a modern rustic twist with a modern ensuite. The pub is clearly a popular haunt with the locals as it was busy on both nights.  I can only describe the food as on par with high end restaurants with a modern menu which was very well executed.  I had the seafood curry one night which was a complete delight as it was brimming with seafood, joyful!! Very attentive staff, well done!!”

“First visit having recently moved to the area.  Lovely warm welcome and great service.  Lovely environment and very friendly staff.  Soda bread starter was delicious and steak and seafood curry couldn’t be faulted.  No space for pudding unfortunately! Would definitely return, lovely restaurant”.
